Sunny Bay Camping is 1.2 km’s from the center of Metamorfosi which has shops, pharmacy, bus stop, taxis, tavernas and bars. Nikiti, the municipal capital of Sithonia is 8 km’s to the south and has a full range of shops and services. Psakoudia is 10 km’s to the north west and has shops and a wide choice of tavernas and bars.
The ruins of Olynthos, which was one of the most important ancient Greek cities can be found 28 km’s away. Visit here to get a feel of how the ancient Greek cities were built.
Another super way to spend the day is to visit Petralona Caves which are 50 km’s away. The cave was rediscovered accidentally in 1959 by a shepherd. Investigations revealed the famous ‘Petralona Skull’ which is 700,000 years old and what is considered as the oldest traces of man made fire.
There is also ample opportunity to explore the mountains and forests of the Sithonia and Kassandra peninsulas.
